I want to warn everyone to keep their children in car seats for as long as possible. My daughter was 3 years and 11 months and complained she didnt want to sit in a BABY SEAT anymore. She was getting too big for her car seat anyway and I agreed to restrain her in the adult seatbelt in the rear of the car.

This decision cost Toni her life.

We were involved in what police described as a "Freak accident that everyone should have walked away from". Instead we walked away with only the memory of our beautiful girl. She died of injuries she received when the Adult seat belt she was wearing crushed her little chest. This was nearly 8 years ago. Apparently this is not a one off.... Little Isabelle from the Wollongong area also suffered similar injuries just last year.

Seat belt laws  say children can move from a 5 point harness car seat into a booster restrained with just an adult car seat from just 12 months.
